Claim Up to $2,000 Back on LID Installations from 1 February 2025
The Halytech meterwatch is an approved Local Intelligence Device under the NSW non-urban water metering framework. The rebate applies to installations from 1 February 2025. Eligible Murray-Darling Basin landholders can claim a cashback rebate, covering the full cost of the device.
You may be eligible if you:
- Are a landholder in the Murray-Darling Basin with a water entitlement of 100 ML or more, or have used more than 100 ML in any one of the past three water years
- Want to use your own DQP to install telemetry equipment
- Have installed (and validated) a Local Intelligence Device between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2027, or earlier if program funding is exhausted
You are not eligible if you:
- Received the $975 telemetry rebate (for installations before 30 June 2024)
- Are replacing a non-working LID
- Are installing incompatible equipment or water meters
- Have already engaged the government-appointed contractor through the opt-in installation process

How the cashback process works

We check meter compatibility (pulse or Modbus) and coverage, and to pre-configure the device we need the site name, the meter model, and the MeterSiteID and MeterID from your DQP Portal site registration.
